"We’re here to have a ball.”

Art Blakey – American Jazz Drummer

Not your average jazz band.

Blue Cashmere makes jazz standards their own and mixes sets with some vintage pop, keeping it warm and lighthearted.

Liz Keever is a storyteller on vocals, Robert Marquis dazzles on electric guitar and
Paul Black masterfully multi-tasks on vocals as he holds down the low end on upright bass.

You’ll hear a funky arrangement of a Beatles tune as well as timeless tunes by Van Morrison and the Temptations woven in with tunes recorded by Peggy Lee and many others.

Always casually elegant.

"Pop music will never be low brow.”
~ Lady Gaga

Liz Keever

Vocalist

Liz Keever was described by The Oregonian as “vivacious” with a “powerful and versatile voice”.  NYC’s Backstage magazine described her singing as “impeccably phrased” and “wrapping herself emotionally around” the music.  She’s created, produced and performed her one-woman musical shows on both coasts, played leading roles in musicals as well as singing in a cruise-ship quartet for two years.  A musical wanderer, Liz was classically trained before discovering musical theater, jazz and the joy of popular music.  After many years in corporate life, she returned to music in 2022.

Robert Marquis

Guitarist

Robert Marquis performs a varied combination of traditional and contemporary jazz and rock music that has roots in the blues. Robert’s compositions and arrangement vary in style and texture by using musical elements from all the different cities in which he’s lived.  In his previous career, Robert performed for 20 years as a member of the U.S. Navy Contemporary Music Ensemble and as the guitar instructor for the Navy and Marine Corps. Originally from Miami, he’s lived in New Orleans, Seattle, Virginia Beach and San Diego and has traveled and performed extensively across the U.S.

Paul Black

Bassist

Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Paul has been performing on bass guitar for over twenty years. His musical influences were honed by a wide spectrum of musical genres that he freely incorporates into his vocally-based playing. Paul’s ultimate credo in music is, “If the music is good, then I am happy.” He does his part to make the music good with his grooving bass lines and rhythm giving his bandmates the strong support needed to make great music. With his many influences such as Pino Palladino, Ray Brown, and Eric Wheeler, Paul pays tribute to his musical idols while also forging his own sound on the bandstand.

I learned pop; that comes from blues.”
